Changing The Time

We are fast approaching the day when the clocks will “fall” back to Standard time from Daylight Savings time and as happens at each occurrence, many people are up in arms saying that it is high time to stop changing the time twice a year.

I suppose there are arguments for and against but when it comes down to it, what is the big deal? You move the clock twice a year and life goes on. Yes, it takes a few days for everyone to get used to the time change but then it is forgotten and not mentioned again until the next time the clock is to be changed. Considering the many other problems that exist in the US and the world, does this warrant the hullabaloo that it generates?

If I’m not mistaken, changing the time is left up to the individual states and some of them (Arizona and Hawaii) don’t change the clocks and everyone has adapted to that situation. I believe that under federal law, “states are allowed to opt out of daylight saving time and remain on standard time, but are not allowed to remain on daylight time”. If it were such a big deal, wouldn’t more than those two states have opted to do this?

You know the old saying…everyone is entitled to their opinion and I just gave you mine.
