NFL 2022

The 2022 NFL season is just around the corner and I for one can’t wait for it to start. Not because I run a football pool, but because there seems to be more excitement in football than there is in baseball.

I’m sure that because there is only 18 games on the NFL schedule everyone gets the impression that there is an urgency for teams to make their moves. In baseball, no one really gets excited until the last month of the season when the playoff teams are slotted into their seeds, even though the top two teams have been determined for quite a while.

In football, the way the ball bounces is not just a saying, as teams that appeared to be eliminated can make a big enough comeback to get into the playoff race. Once there however, it is usually the home teams that prevail and move up the ladder toward the coveted Super Bowl game. And that’s the other thing…the Superbowl is a one and done game unlike the World Series where it takes a team 4 wins to win it all. Granted, football is a much more physical game and football players could not be expected to go more than one game. That makes the Super Bowl that much more exciting. In any case it is time to, “get ready to rumble”.
